I think this software and the documentation is brilliant: but every now and then I hit a brick wall.

Under 'Block Configeration' the book of words says I must 'enable' a block by checking its 'enabled' box, but in the page i get up I'm only offered

Block - Region - Weight - Operations

And however hard i search I cant find a way to enable the block

Will someone put me out of my misery?

Choose a region other then "none". This in "enables" the block by setting which region on the rendered page to put it in. The weight is used to dictate the order if there are other blocks in the same region.

To disable set it back to "none".

Note that different themes can provide different regions but left, right, or usually common across themes.
