Is there any way to add an event (with time, place, etc.) directly on the calendar, rather than needing to add the event using a custom content type? I'm thinking about how iCal works on the Mac desktop.
I'm trying to set up a community calendar, and would like members to be able to add events easily.
Thanks for any help!

aspilicious CreditAttribution: aspilicious commentedWell not really as the "calendar view" filters on content type and shows the results of the matched entities.
What you should do is:
1) create a generic content type (only one time)
2) add a link on top off the view that links to the new content type
3) be sure your members have the permissions to add content of that type
4) as a member, click the link fill in the form press save and you have a new event :)

When you say a generic content type what do you mean? When I set up the module I made one content type with a date field. Is this sort of content type what you're referring to?
So basically just add a link on the calendar page that go links to whatever content type I decide to make?

aspilicious CreditAttribution: aspilicious commentedYes by generic I mean a content type you can use for all your events. (I'm lazy I don't like to many content types)
Yes thats the way to handle it :).
