Breadcrumbs off in theme, still show in ctools?

Hope I dropped this in the right spot. My CTools "Page" still shows a breadcrumb "home" even though I have (successfully) disabled it in the theme for all other pages. Don't know if this has to do with #1089984: Breadcrumb only shows "Home" but I figured I'd mention it.
