URL and email links do not display and work correctly

The link text was Jump to GOOGLE.CA (with "GOOGLE.CA" selected and linked.

After save the page I see:

Jump to www.google.ca">http://www.google.ca">GOOGLE CANADA.
(the text above contains to hyperlinks, both under the text 'google.ca'.

the first 'www.google.ca' refers to "http://localhost/drupal/content/%3Ca%20href=" (non existing page)
while te second 'www.google.ca' refers to the intended google URL

The issue with the email is similar:

I gave in the text "Write an email" with the word "email" selected and then hyperlinked. I gave in the email address "myname@gmail.com" and the subject "Predefined sample message subject"

After saving the page the section appears as follows:

Write an myname@gmail.com?subject=Prefined%20sample%20mesage%20subject%20for%20email">mailto:myname@gmail.com?subject=Prefined%20sample%20message%20subject%20f...">email

In this text string there are 2 hyperlinks, both with the text "myname@gmail.com"

The first links refers to "http://localhost/drupal/content/%3Ca%20href=" (non existing page)
The second link functions well, calls my preferred email program and fills in the email address.

My internal links to Drupal pages work well and have the normal presentation!
(I have the CKEditor Link module installed, but the issue with the URL and email existed before I installed that module)

Does anybody have a clue?
