Private Message "To" field returning empty array

After integrating relationships with privatemsg's, the ajax name check on the "To" field is now returning an empty array and giving me an error.

When first using privatemsg, it was working when writing partial usernames. After activating the user relationships privatemsg integration module, this field started acting up.
