I'm creating this thread to update ya'll on the status of GMap module support.

Long term goals is to be able to use Gmap as a formatter, widget, and views style. Sould also be able to display points, lines, polygons (as long as the GMap module supports it)

I took a run at this yesterday and gave up in frustration. GMap for D7 isn't anywhere ready.

At the very least this issue needs to be resolved: http://drupal.org/node/1061444, there are likely others.

#1061444: Javascript is required to view this map.: missing gmap_markers.js seems to have a working patch

you can also add google maps through the openlayers module, though direct integration with gmap module http://drupal.org/project/gmap would be ideal
