I would like to add an RSS feed to the aggregator. I've addded the feed, but the feed is behind a username and password protected site. Is there a way to specify username and password somewhere to all the aggregator to access such a feed? I can get to it through Thunderbird's newsreader using the username and password for the site.

I did try this http://drupal.org/node/7028but the username is an email address, which then gives me a "Failed to parse RSS feed Feedname at Feedsite: invalid schema me@here.net" error.
I entered the RSS URL as follows:

me@here.net:password@http://feedurl.rss

I think the format you used is wrong. It should be http://user:password@www.example.com/foo.rss IIRC.

I just tried that, entered for the feed
(keeping in mind that me@mydomain.com is the username - an email address):

http://me@mydomain.com:password@www.example.com/rss

I got another parse error:
..."Unable to parse url in C:\xxxx\common.inc on line 285."

May it have something to do with the username is an email address?

Try replacing the @ in the email address with %40

Using %40 instead of @: I get a "Failed to parse RSS feed Feedname at Feedsitetitle: 401 Unauthorized." which sounds like it's getting thru, and I'm certain username and password are correct, so something else is failing.

Another piece of information which may matter is the feed is not actually published on the web, but available for download, like this one, for example only: http://www.network-centricadvocacy.net/index.rdf
if you put that in your browser you'll see what i'm trying to explain...

Hello,

I have found this very old post, but I'm right now in face of this problem.
I have tested the Aggregation module but don't same to works as well with ssl RSS.

Did you have found a solution or can you suggest me a solution that I can use now with Drupal 5.1

Cheers,
Damien
