This is a recent topic of discussion on the development mail list, see this post and responses.

I'm currently working on refinements to the trip_search module, including improved ranking of results.

I'm thinking of a flexinode based search module.

I don't know how to develope modules yet, but I can create a deticated php script page that would search specific individual flexinode entries.

Someone can take that code and make a module.

In my existing site, which I plan to convert, I have done a very simple HTML page that calls Google to search my site. It's very effective. Has nobody thought of integrating such a module into Drupal?
