Last commit for Friendlist was in 2009, I wouldn't hold your breath. User Relationships is seeing a lot of momentum behind its D7 version.

yea most of mercmobily's modules are unmaintained see user_karma and drigg and user_relationships seems like a better candidate since it's actively maintained.
