Hey,
I don't think that this is a menu_block bug but the active trail is never set on the main-menu.
i have patched core with #942782: Custom menus never receive an active trail but that seems to be a fix for custom menu's only. The workaround of the menu_block module (custom_menu_active_trail) doesn't seem to help either. Lazy fix: just create a custom menu instead of using main-menu....

RmrJmrGrl CreditAttribution: RmrJmrGrl commentedI am running into this same issue and the #942782: Custom menus never receive an active trail item says to use menu_block as a fix. But I am still not getting expanded menus as expected when I create a custom menu either. No great at all when your main navigation won't expand for users! Any other ideas on how to fix?

JohnAlbinThis was probably that giant Drupal core bug for menus. I'm sure this is fixed in 7.x-2.3 of menu block and a recent Drupal core release.
