I'm building a community site which includes forums, blogs, news, etc. and I also want to include an area where users can upload/share files with other users. The types of files will be categorized so, for example, a user could browse all the files uploaded relating to a specific category. The uploaders will also be allowed to write some file-related content and title so people know what it is. Users will be able to search for files, rate them and comment on them. Other useful info like the number of downloads, upload date, and author would be great. Does drupal have anything like this?
My attempts to search the forums and modules for this type of module were unfruitful, but I'm hoping that's because I'm not sure of the terminology used to describe this functionality. Thanks for your help!
