hi, i was using extended path alias to alter extended urls. for example on edit pages these would usually be node/[nid]/edit, however xt path alias changed these to path alias/edit.

But with global redirect I get an endless loop error.

Also was having this problem. Upgrade to the latest dev version of Global Redirect. Fixed it for me.
