Merry Christmas everyone!

I am a new user of drupal and I think it's the best! It combines easiness with functionality.

I have a strange problem. I set it up with my host’s fantastico panel, I enable locale module and import the Greek translation. The welcome text and menus change to Greek like they should be and I can view Greek text right. I have tried about 4 or 5 times but so far although I can type English and save it just fine e.g. slogan, everything I type in Greek it’s left blank after I hit the save changes button. I changed the mysql database collation to greek,utf8, utf_general, utf_binary and reinstalled drupal but I have the same result.

I am starting to believe that is my host’s misconfiguration. Has anyone had this problem before? Are there any guidelines for troubleshooting this?

Thank you and happy holidays.

Does this happen with the default 'bluemarine' theme and without any additional modules? Does it also happen when you create content?

Hello again!

So, I took a closer look to the database and even though the default charset was utf8, the tables were using latin-swedish. Strange! I think this has to do with fantastico...

Anyway, it took me somw time to change every table but now it is working.

Thanks for your response.

Oh, it was fantastico again...

By the way, I am always open for comments/suggestions for the Greek translation in http://drupal.org/project/el, especially for terms which do not feel right in actual usage.
