I'm using:
Win XP SP2
Drupal 5 rc1
IIS 5
PHP 5.2
PostgresSql 8.2
The installation went fine and the first user account successfully been created in the database, but the login failled for the same user using the exact username & paswd.
I apperciate any help.

PHP 5.2 may be your problem.
It's not officially support although there is a patch. I recommend searching for "php 5.2" and applying the patch, or else installing php 5.16 or lower.
