I want registered users to be able to submit links in different categories, which should then be able to show up in the "directory" created using the directory.module.

For this, I have tried different solutions, but none seems to do all I want.

The weblinks.module looked ok, and whichever vocabularies & terms I created under it, showed up in the directory, the weblinks itself appearing as an option under categories.

The problem with the weblinks.module is that it seems only the admin has the option of categorizing the links. The users can submit links, but on the submission form, there's no where they are offered the different created categories to organize the links!!

The same problem (of the submission form not offering the category option) turned up with ALL the couple of the user links submission-related modules I tried (including links package) EXCEPT the linkdb.module. I failed to see anywhere under settings of all the modules where to enable such a function.

The linkdb.module offers the user the option to choose which category/sub category for submission on the form. The only problem with this module however, is there does not seem to be a way to connect it to the directory.module output, at least that I have seen.

Of the whole list of modules whose output could be considered by the directory.module, it's not even listed there.... under Settings=>directory:

"Which vocabularies should be displayed on the directory main page: " ... it's not one of the possibilities listed. [Those appearing are: Recipes, Forums, image galleries, Stories & Weblinks. I have disabled some link-related modules, that were also showing up here BUT not offering the option of link categorization for users]
The problem could be solved, if there was a way to get it included here.

How do I solve my problem of either connecting the linksdb.module to directory.module so its content shows there OR in case of the weblinks.module, links package, etc offering on the link submission form, the possibility of selecting one of the created categories/subcategoriers to insert their links in?

Thanks :)

hi.

although I am not one of the moderators, but I would like to advice you to change the subject line to something more meaningful and discriptive. simply "help needed" doesn't tell us anything about your problem, and alot of readers wouldn't even click the link!

"web links and the directory module" perhaps is a better title. good luck in finding a solution to your problem. will post back if I think of something.
