I'm using the Weblink module (1.20).
When I search for a term that is in the description of a link, the weblink entry is returned in the search results list, as a node .
But selecting that node from the search list just displays the link as a story - it omits the URL (a fairly essential item) and the hit count.
Other types of nodes seem to be mostly successfully displayed, in the format they were origininally entered in.
To put this another way: the search module doesn't seem to be aware to use weblink to display the results of a search when needed, it considers it to be a standard node. This may be a problem in the search, or perhaps in the way weblink writes its nodes.

P.S. the only other site I've been able to spot that actually uses weblinks demonstrates this problem, see: http://www.ilug-cal.org and search for some text that is within their link descriptions.

moshe weitzman CreditAttribution: moshe weitzman commentedlooks OK to me. The search reslt links to node.php?id=x where x is the particular weblink. Following that node gives me a weblink formatted view.
i did the following:
- browse to http://www.ilug-cal.org/module.php?mod=search
- search for PCQuest
- folow the result for node 24 (watch the URLs for each)
- you will see a weblink formatted node, not a story.
I did this as an anonymous user, but I don't think that should matter.
Marked as Status='By Design' but a better description would be 'Can't reproduce'.

rhoare CreditAttribution: rhoare commentedI see now there is a link shown at the bottom of the story resulting from the search. Although it's NOT formatted the same as a weblink node the information (except the text of the URL, and the description of the hit count) is there (although less visible).
Looker closer, I see it's also theme problem -- the Smarty theme I'm using here doesn't have that final line, so is actually blank. I didn't spot the links on that site (as it's not in the same place as on a weblink node).
As luck would have it, it seems Smarty is the only (working) theme that misses it. Pity as that's one of the very few with proper font size control.
Looks like a good excuse to do my own theme, presumably it should be possible to format link node to look like a link node, even when returned from a search, within the theme.
