January Lullabot Workshops in Providence, RI

Lullabot has another round of workshops coming up in January. We've got a great space in Providence, RI centrally located for people in both the Boston and New York areas -- and close to the airport for people coming from further away. Over the course of the week, we'll be building a single project – a Drupal-based CRM and attendees can sign up for individual workshops, or stay the whole week to see the project from beginning to end. Here's the rundown:

Hands-On Drupal – Monday, January 15th and Tuesday, January 16th

This workshop focuses on getting "hands-on" quickly with Drupal. We'll focus on functionality and look at what can be done with core Drupal, visit some of the "big" contribution modules, and talk about how to find and evaluate the modules that we'll need for our project. We'll go through the process of architecting our project and assembling the functionality that we'll need.

Theming Drupal – Wednesday, January 17th and Thursday, January 18th

Drupal's powerful presentation layer is often a source of confusion for both developers and designers alike. Yet with a little knowledge of Drupal’s theme system, it is possible to customize Drupal's output however you would like. During this workshop we will convert our flat design into a full-fledged Drupal theme, showing the best practices and common pitfalls along the way. We'll take a look at some of the themes that Lullabot has built for sites such as TWit.tv, MTV.co.uk, Sony Records, and others.

JQuery Ajax in Drupal – Friday, January 19th

Join team Lullabot along with JQuery author, John Resig, as we look at what this amazing Javascript library is capable of. JQuery has been incorporated into Drupal 5.0 and makes complex Ajax callbacks, page element manipulations, and all sorts of “tricky stuff” downright easy! We'll add some pizzaz to our project and look at how JQuery can vastly improve the user experience.
