Append a class to the 'Messages (number new)' link to make it outstanding among other links [#1009352]

For styling purposes, it would be very nice to make Messages (new) link bigger or of different color when user receives a message.

I don't think we can do that. We can probably do it for our own custom links block, but not the menu.

The text is returned in a menu title callback function, I'll have to check if we can return anything else than plaintext.

Different styling, at least, for the module's custom links block would be great.

I could use Menu attributes module for this purpose, however it allows to append id or classs atrribute for the private message link regardless if it contains extra (new) messages or not. And I would like it to look like ordinary link when there is no new message, but when there is a new message (or messages) to make it outstanding (bold at least).
