Better Entity Reference replaces Drupal's default widgets on entity reference, list, media, file and image fields with a tag- and tile-based interface: picked items are removable, drag-to-reorder tags or thumbnail tiles whose order is saved, and a "+" popover offers search, sorting, a Filter by type and publication status, and view in a glossary mode in a collapsible toolbar, plus folder-style browsing for nested vocabularies. The file, image and media widgets chunk-upload files right inside the widget - respecting the field's own extension and size limits, with media auto-detecting the type from the file and accepting remote/oEmbed video - or switch to a File Browser to pick from existing files with search, sorting, a type filter and list or grid view. Large targets load on demand and non-taxonomy fields are live-searched server side through the field's own selection handler with inline quick-create for auto-create fields. Tags and tiles get per-entity colors and rich tooltips, refused or over-limit values are visibly flagged, and a matching Better Tags formatter renders the same colored tags on view pages.
AI Editor Actions adds an "AI Actions" menu for running user-defined text transformations - rephrase, fix grammar, translate, summarize, change tone, and more - in place on the selected text or the whole document, with every result tracked as a reviewable, revertable change. It works in CKEditor 5 and, as a standalone twin, on plain input and textarea fields, and adds a read-only "Explain this" insight that explains highlighted text - in the editor or anywhere on the page - without changing it.
