As recently discussed in the forums, it would be helpful for some users if block.module removed the session ID from the URL before matching it with block paths. The attached patch accomplishes this.

Steven CreditAttribution: Steven commentedThere's been some talk about unifying which paths to match: http paths, drupal paths, drupal aliases, etc...
I've applied a modified version of this patch (which gets rid of that kilometers-long if statement) for now. The path matching part is now clearly separated and can easily be replaced later on.
