Most of the code from ImageAPI got committed to core for D7 (#373613: Create "Image" Objects, Operate on Images By Resource). There were a bunch of bug that were found and fixed in the process and now we need to back port them to D6.

fixed a D6 version of watchdog().

committing the attached to DRUPAL-5. i'll do a beta release for this so people have a chance to test it.
