Agreed - none of my Drupal installs have these files present under /files... we may need to wait until the documentation is finished and in fixed place on drupal.org.

Dries, why absolute links? the link will change when we go from HEAD to 4.7. When someone uses API module. The only way this trick could work is relative URLs.
