It would be good to have a way to opt-out of including comments in the feed.

Attached patch does that.

Both Drupal 5 and Drupal 6 are feature frozen. Feature requests can only go in the current development version (Drupal 7-dev).

Interesting idea. I think it'd be better to have this as a checkbox along with #335929: Option to anonymize RSS feeds in admin/content/rss-publishing implemented by comment.module using hook_form_alter. Better yet, this would possibly be great with #230710: Centralized module to control feeds and feed types.
