Both gulpfile.coffee and package.json were committed to the 8.x-1.x branch in commit 90a00cbb4 on Jan 19, 2017 (Issue #2844980: Beyond Compare --> Import working D8 base from @pedrorocha's port by dbt102: Beyond Compare --> Import working D8 base from @pedrorocha's port)

These files are clearly part of @pedrorocha's development environment, are NOT needed for the Fivestar module, and should be removed from the git repository.
