Solr requests fail authentication [#3121854]

Errors such as the following appear when attempting to index content:

Authentication of search content failed

I believe this to be a regression introduced by #2838963: Incompatibility with Solr Devel

The patch has been tested with success on a project which authentication checks was failing.

Thanks for reporting. This has been merged into 8.x-1.x-dev. Assuming it continues to test well, I'll cut a new release in the next day or two. I've already updated the 8.x-1.20 release notes to warn folks about the issue.
