drummThis was due to new validation for supporting semantic versioning, at https://git.drupalcode.org/project/project/-/blob/8df3898a09ddb08d8526c9..., and configured at https://bitbucket.org/drupalorg-infrastructure/drupal.org/src/ba8ab83a36....
Drupal core needs a special case, since 7.* does not use or support semantic versioning.

drummIt looks like some configuration was changed on Drupal.org, I’m looking into the root cause.
This is corrected now, clicking “Check manually” on
/admin/reports/updates

drummThe code running on Drupal.org that I patched earlier today was only half of the problem. The other instance of it is now fixed, too.
