Not sure what's going on. I guess the patch from #3 was you trying to fix the composer require failure?

@bkosborne, I have no idea why this is not working. Is it possible that the list of dependencies is built before the patch is applied? At least, this is what #5 is telling us. I'm suggesting that we stop testing with PHP5. Anyway, Drupal 8.7.x supports PHP5 only for existing sites, not for new installs. Any thoughts?
