The module is currently using the old migration plugin process name that is deprecated since Drupal 8.3.2.
I think it is a good idea to update to use the current one (migration_lookup) as people use this module as an example to build new migrations.

Did a review of the migrate_plus module to see if there is any legacy reference to the migrate process plugin. I couldn't find any. So I think this is good to go now.
