As noted at the bottom of #2458453: Smush.it service has changed so it is no longer available to the module by sic and giupenni:

The url has changed to api.resmushit.it
http://resmush.it/api#compression

Marking as major as currently reSmush.it isn't usable.

To be more precise:

Since March 2016, the endpoint has changed. Please upgrade your scripts from http://www.resmush.it/ws.php to http://api.resmush.it/ws.php. The old endpoint will be deprecated on 30th Sept. 2016

Here is a patch for this. It hasn't been tested because I don't currently use this module.

Tested and working. They are going to phase out the current endpoint soon so let's get this committed to avoid having sites break.
