The converter code works fairly well with an import of a Views 1 view, but misses a lot of things if you try to convert the same view directly from the database. It turns out there is a difference in the way the database results are formatted and the way a views export is formatted. I've made some fixes to the code that creates the query out of the database to get it looking, and behaving, more like the like imported view.
I'm sure this is not perfect, but prior to these fixes sorts and filters were completely lost and now they seem to most get created correctly.
