I propose this patch with much sadness. I've enjoyed working on core immensely. But my activity has dwindled considerably and I cannot in good conscience continue to maintain core sub-systems. There are certainly well-qualified and engaged individuals in the community who should have recognition in lieu of me.

@jessebeach Little sadness :(

but I think you forget to remove your name from Accessibility OR you still want to work in this group :)

Thanks for all the hard work, you are a true inspiration! :/ On the other hand, I am sure you will find joy in your new endeavors!

Thanks for all your hard work! I think you've inspired many people, including myself, in the community that your influence will remain for a long time yet.

I can't wait to use the projects you're working on now. I refuse to be sad to see you move onwards and upwards!

Thanks for all the work you've done and let's not forget all the things still in queue limbo.

If you have names for "well-qualified and engaged individuals" that'd go a long way :)

Let's RTBC once we have an answer about a11y.

Thanks for all the hard work you've done to make Drupal more accessible, usable, and inclusive, and for being a great mentor! :)

Repeating what I said on Twitter, for Twitter may not be around in a decade, but this URL will be:

Very sorry to see you go, but you can't keep juggling so many things forever! It's the right decision. Thanks for everything! :)

For those who don't know: Jesse is doing amazing work in the front-end world, specifically in the area of accessibility: https://github.com/quailjs/quail.

The cool thing is that that library is useful for many projects, for any website, really. Quail is also being used (and contributed to) by CKEditor — the CKEditor team knows Jesse, because Jesse, nod_, Kevin O'Leary, quicksketch and I actively worked with the CKEditor team to bring the best possible CKEditor integration to Drupal. In doing so, we always made sure accessibility was top-notch (e.g. the configuring of an accessible CKEditor instance for Drupal 8 is itself fully accessible!). Jesse, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that much of your interest actually came from working on Spark/Drupal 8/CKEditor/Toolbar. How beautiful irony can be :)
So, as you can see, it's a small world :) We may be losing Jesse's current attention, but we'll still be benefitting from her work. And the rest of the world at the same time. She's awesome like that :)

Thank you for the sweet words, Wim!

Jesse, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that much of your interest actually came from working on Spark/Drupal 8/CKEditor/Toolbar.

It's true!

We have such amazing front end talent rising up in the Drupal world. I want to step aside and allow them to take more active roles. This isn't me leaving Drupal, but it is me acknowledging that I'm not investing the time necessary to continue to be a maintainer for these subsystems.

manjit.singh, nod_, yes, good catch :) I would like to continue working on Accessibility issues in Drupal. My work in the next few years will focus on this sub-field and I think I can continue to add value here.

I'm moving into a role at Facebook on the engineering team in the next month as an accessibility specialist. And with my continuing work on Quail, I can help Drupal be (continue to be!) the most accessible CMS in the world.

Jesse is still in D7 MAINTAINERS.txt and should be removed there as well, so that I don't add her to private security issues.
