Introduced

Branch: 7.x-3.x
Release: 7.x-3.20

Policy

This project no longer supports a version less than PHP 5.3.

PHP 5.2 reached end-of-life (EOL) on January 6, 2011 and is definitely no longer supported by PHP itself.

Solution

This project will provide an initial patch so it can be applied either manually or in a drush make file.

After this initial patch, this project will no longer actively support this issue.

The sole responsibility of updating patches in this issue against the latest released code or HEAD falls to the individuals in the community that require this patch because their servers still run the outdated PHP 5.2.

This issue should remain closed, but commenting will remain open so new patches can be uploaded.

Because #2128129: Provide setting to change sidebar/content widths was recently reverted, this patch is not longer applicable. Thus I am reverting this one as well until that patch makes it in. I am also unpublishing the change record and removing the requirement from the project page. Once that issue has been resolved, this issue (and decision) will be reapplied.

Here is the current working patch that will need to be applied once that issue is resolved.

Version: 7.x-3.x-dev » 7.x-4.x-dev

This won't happen in the 7.x-3.x branch, bumping version.

This isn't going to happen at all and not an issue in 8.x.

Given that 7.x-3.x is still the recommended/supported 7.x branch, we're going to have to revisit this policy.

PHP 5.2 is very, very old now and this project can no longer continue supporting software that EOL'd over 7 years ago.
