"Most Read" block being displayed for non-permissioned users

Hi,
I have a site where Anonymous users have being given no access permissions to anything - when they access the site they should just get the "Log in" block.

However since I have enabled the statistics module and enabled the "Most Read" block, this block is now been displayed along with the "Log in" block for anonymous users.

If an anonymous users clicks one of these links the related content is not displayed; they get blank area where the node should be displayed.
