Been hanging around here for years now using one form of drupal or another for sites I volunteer to setup for free, zip, no charge - mainly vet issue/oriented sites.  Resent(ly) started helping some of the true BAD ASSES from the Vietnam War,  most SF who earned a Green Beret who volunteered to work with MACV-SOG (out side the wire - across the fence).  On Tilt's site, decided to see where drupal has gone.  So setup 8.  Not without minor issues ( that if I can't fix I don't want to use ).  The bad boy thats been biting my butt, despite my efforts with google and reading without end on the topic, trying various solutions, and the like, only to be let down is the inability to send mail.  I am not impressed with who Tilt decided to host with and it could be an issue created by the host as even a simple php mail form will not send from that site - yet on my servers all works well ( same php version )  .. Any one else ready to kick the cat, scratch the dog and eat the canary because of the no mail issue?  More importantly what has worked for you?
