Drupal 8.4.2

I added PDF as a new field under BODY. I can now use PDF files when I add new content. However, the file does not display unless it is clicked on. I want the file to display the same way regular text would.

What do I have to do to accomplish that?

edit the display for the field in the manage display tab and check its settings.

Change settings to what? I have tried everything that I know. I assume that this is possible, I just cannot figure out how.

scratch that pdf reader isn't available for D8.

https://www.drupal.org/node/1781960 = list of pdf viewer modules that should aid. You will need to locate one for Drupal 8.

Hello thank you VM but have you seen that list of PDF modules that could help? 

I think it's quite impossible to figure out anything. 

I'm struggling since two days to figure out how to use any PDF on Drupal.

@andrimont  From that list https://www.drupal.org/project/pdf module is clearly stated to have been ported to D8 already. Have you tried that? PDF Reader module supports D8 as well https://www.drupal.org/project/pdf_reader
