I want to add a simple paid subscription system to my D7 website. The system would allow registered users to pay for 1 year's access to premium content via PayPal or Sage Pay (off-site). At the end of the year, users would be reminded of the need to pay again to maintain their subscriptions.
I don't particularly want to install Ubercart (or Drupal Commerce). There is a module called lm_paypal that looks like it might be suitable, but it's still in dev:

Any ideas on the simplest way for me (not a developer) to achieve this?
Thanks.

why wouldn't you want to
why wouldn't you want to install ubercart? it works perfectly for me, is really easy to set up, and combined with "roles" it guarantees you what you are searching for.
I don't mind Ubercart...
... but it just seems a great deal of code for what should be a very simple operation.
ps Are you using the UC Recurring Payments and Subscriptions module?
If you don't object to
If you don't object to paying, this module will do all you need, including the reminder messages etc.

I agree the moneyscripts.net
I agree the moneyscripts.net modules are simple to use and work well if you don't want to mess with Ubercart. But both work just as well either way.

And it won't be too heavy for you.
