Another silly question..... I need to promote my rss to the front page and allow user to see the content of the site without being logged in. Can anyone help????

You can set the blocks that contain the RSS feeds (or the RSS categories) where they are visible in a region of your choosing. You can also set it to appear only on the front page.
If you go to http://example.com/?q=admin/build/block (or http://example.com/admin/build/block with Clean URLs), you will see a list of available blocks. Clicking configure next to a block, allows you to control many factors, including visibility.
For the second part of your query (about users seeing content without logging in), you can go to http://example.com/?q=admin/user/access and enable access for anonymous users in for the content types as you see fit.
