I keep on getting the following error:
Warning: mysql_connect(): User 'xxxhas exceeded the 'max_connections_per_hour' resource (current value: 50) in /home/xxxx on line 31
User xxx' has exceeded the 'max_connections_per_hour' resource (current value: 50)
I'm using a mysql database on a shared hosting plan. SO I can't alter the configs.
DOes anyone know how I can streamline my drupal configuration to prevent this problem occuring? My site is very low traffic. But the search engine spiders have been at it today.

If search engine bots are whats causing you to max out, I"d suggest changing hosts. If your site ever becomes busy you will also have these problems. multiply that with bots and you are with a host who is too limiting.
you can move, or ask them to increase the amount of connections for you.
