Hello all.
I have been learning Drupal 8 over the last several months. At home, I set it up on my laptop running Linux, at work, on my desktop PC running Windows. After some demos, my boss would like us to officially use Drupal at work. I asked if we could do it on Linux, and to my surprise, he said yes. He feels comfortable with some sort of support, so we went with Red Hat.
I know after doing my own installations I would run across modules and updates that required composer or drush. I'm only vaguely familiar with what these do, but I want to make sure when I start setting up the environment, I choose the LAMP stack that
1. is easy to install and configure
2. makes it easy to maintain Drupal sites.
Any advice here would be truly appreciated.
Steve

Its pretty straightforward really
You can and should use composer to update your contrib modules otherwise they can be tedious to update. Also my advice would be to stay up to date and NOT custom hack the core even if the sky falls on your head. If you absolutely have to hack the drupal core then I suggest that you keep track of all your hacks. All the same I have only one piece of advice, do not hack the core.
