# Out of the Box Experience Initiative Installing Drupal currently gives you a mostly empty box. There is no demo content nor much preconfigured functionality. This makes for a weak first impression and it makes it hard for the evaluator to connect the dots and find out what Drupal can do. The Out of the Box Experience initiative (OOTB) aims to improve this situation. The goal is to add sample content presented in a well designed theme, presented as a food magazine. Using recipes and feature articles this example site will make Drupal look much better right from the start and help evaluators explore core Drupal concepts like content types, fields, blocks, views, taxonomy, etc. Together this will also be a useful tool for agencies to demo what Drupal can do for their (potential) clients. ## What are we working on? - A demo food magazine website called "Umami" - Recipe, feature article and simple page content types - A custom designed theme - Sample content for recipes and feature articles: text and photography - An install profile that loads the sample content and installs the custom theme ## Meet the initiative team - @kjay – lead designer and writer - @markconroy - frontend developer - @ckrina - designer and frontend - @smaz – backend dev, working on the install profile - @laurii – frontend core maintainer There are more people working on this.
