Contribution Credit Weight and Impact on Ranking
This documentation needs work. See "Help improve this page" in the sidebar.
How does Drupal Certified Partner qualification work?
Drupal Certified Partners qualify based on the combination of three factors: Weighted contribution credits (as described below), verified case studies, and Certified Partner Tier.

How is marketplace rank determined?
Organizations are ordered by Drupal Certified Partner Level → Contribution Level.
Contribution ranking is based on contribution credits, which can be earned through the following types of contributions:
- Issue credits from the last 90 days — credits on more widely used modules carry more weight.
- Every project shows usage information under the 'Project Information' heading on the project page.
- This usage is translated into a 1-10 point score for each issue on the project.
- For the purposes of the marketplace, issues fixed in the last 90 days are counted
- One way to evaluate how much credit issues on a given project will be worth is to know that the scale works as follows:
- 10 credits = 1,000,000 sites report using OR Core OR Strategic Initiative
- 3 credits = 300,000 sites report using
- 2 credits = 200,000 sites report using
etc. - The floor is 1 credit - all issues on any project receive at least 1 credit.
- Sometimes issues are also given additional bounties by the DA! Look for blog posts or ask your account manager.
- Drupal case studies — success stories increase Drupal adoption.
- Case studies tell powerful stories about Drupal's success, and users evaluating Drupal rely on them to see examples of use cases similar to their own.
- A good case study can be worth as much as a core issue, and there is no time limit.
- However, note that case studies for the more recent major versions of Drupal are worth more. (Drupal 10 > Drupal 9 > Drupal 8 > Drupal 7).
- Organization Memberships — help us build and maintain Drupal.org.
- Organization Members contribute to marketplace position in directly proportion to the level of financial support provided to the Drupal Association.
- Very active issue contributions will take an organization much further than the partner level, but the partner level provides a firm foundation, and raises the floor for an organization's position.
- Contributor Roles — Sponsoring contributor roles held by individuals in your organization.
- Contributor roles affect marketplace position proportional to the scope and time invested in the given role.
- They can be worth as much or more than a core issue, but don't expire.
- Projects supported — Project maintainers can credit organizations who provide support outside of issues.
- If a project maintainer marks your organization as a supporter, it grants a small but persistent bump to your position.
- This support is less highly weighted than issues closed, but makes a difference.
- Individual Members — Organizations get a boost for each employee who is an individual Drupal Association member.
- Growing the community of Drupal Association members gives a small but persistent boost to organization rankings.

Since Drupal is an open-source project, you can see much of how the algorithm works by view function drush_drupalorg_org_credit()
in the drupalorg > drupalorg > drupalorg.drush.inc file.
