What is the difference between a “Landing Page” and a “Content Page”?

A Content Page and Landing Page serve two different purposes in many content management systems and Panopoly is no different. Both options are available to the content contributors.

Content Page

A content page is your typical brochure-like static page. An example of this would be a standard "About" page. It contains a body field that may be populated with various markup. Any of the available Panopoly layouts may be chosen and the body field placed into one of the panel regions. Ancillary content / panes may be added to support the main body of content.

Landing Page

A landing page is different than a content page in that it offers up no content of its own. It acts as an entry point to the website or sections of the website. It typically has various content listing panes to help direct users to other content (e.g. content pages, articles, events, etc.) within the site.
