SSO setup with Frontline using Drupal IdP
This document will help you configure Frontline Education as a Service Provider (SP) making Drupal as your Identity Provider (IDP). Following these steps will allow you to configure SAML SSO between Frontline Education and your Drupal site such that your users will be able to log in to Frontline Education using their Drupal credentials.
The Drupal SAML SSO - Identity Provider module is compatible with Drupal 7, Drupal 8, Drupal 9, Drupal 10, and Drupal 11.
Prerequisite:
- Install and activate the SAML SSO - Identity Provider module on your Drupal site. Click here to check out the module installation step.
Drupal SAML IDP Metadata:

After installing the module on your Drupal site, in the Administration menu, navigate to Configuration→ People → miniOrange SAML IDP Configuration. (/admin/config/people/miniorange_saml_idp/idp_setup)

Under the IDP Metadata tab, copy the IDP Entity ID or Issuer, SAML Login URL, and X.509 Certificate. Keep it handy. (This will be needed to configure Frontline as SAML SP.)

Configure SAML SSO Application in Frontline:
- Log into the Frontline Education account as a System Admin.

Navigate to System → Account & Services → Single Sign-on. Provide following information from the Drupal site.
Frontline filed (Service Provider) Identity Provider Information (Drupal) Name Frontline Education Subdomain Enter a sub domain name of your choice, such as your company name, with no spaces.
Note: This will generate Single Sign-on URL and Metadata URL on the right side of the screen.
Trust Identity URL
IDP-EntityID / Issuer URL Login URL SAML Login URL Logout URL SAML Logout URL 
- Copy the Metadta URL which will generate on the right side of page after the providing information. Keep it handy. (You will need this to configure Drupal as SAML IDP.)

Navigate to your profile, then select My Profile.

Switch on the Use single sign-on option, then click Save.
Note: If you toggle the Disable email login option, you will not be able to sign-in through your regular log-in page.

Configure Drupal as SAML Identity Provider (IdP):

Navigate to the Drupal site and switch to the Service Provider Setup tab of the miniOrange SAML IDP module and click on the Upload SP metadata to expand it.

Now paste the metadata URL in Enter Metadata URL text field which was copied from Frontline Education SSO Application. Click the Fetch Metadata button.

- Scroll down and click on the Save Configuration button.

Click on the Test link to check connection between Frontline Education and Drupal. If everything is configured properly, you will be redirected to the Frontline Education dashboard.

You have successfully set up Frontline Education as Service Provider and Drupal as Identity Provider.
