Contributed modules

As you by now know, Reaction Rules and Rules Components are both configuration entities. While that means they can leverage the powerful configuration system provided by Drupal 8, it also means a lot of the useful functionality needed to manage configuration has been left for contributed modules to implement. Rather than re-invent the wheel, Rules lets you import and export Rules using the core Drupal configuration import and export mechanism provided by the core Configuration Manager module.

But core Drupal doesn't give you all the tools you need. With Rules, you would like to be able to see which Rules have been provided by modules, which provided Rules have been modified, and which Rules are custom to your site. You would also like to be able to revert specific Rules to their original values. This can all be done with Configuration Update Manager.
