Customizing the display of thread messages

Private message thread messages are connected to the thread through the use of an unlimited value entity reference field. The display of this field can be adjusted  at Admin -> Structure -> Private Message -> Private Message Thread Settings -> Manage Display [tab] (admin/structure/private_message/private_message_thread/display). Note that this tab will only be available if the Field UI module is installed.

A custom field formatter, 'Private Message Messages' is provided with the following options:

• Number of messages to show on page load
• Number of messages to load with AJAX when 'load previous messages' is clicked
• The amount of seconds to set between AJAX calls to the server to check for new messages
• Whether to order the messages in ascending or descending order
