How to Test a New Release of Easy Breadcrumb

Last updated on

Breadcrumbs are pretty straight forward to test. But, there are a few things that we want to check with each release. If you don't have a Drupal site where you can test the module, you can go to Simply Test Me and Install the latest release.

Once you have Easy Breadcrumb installed, before testing, you need 3 pages of content.

  • A landing page with a url like: /landing-page
  • A sub-page with a url like /landing-page/sub-page
  • A sub-page with a url like /bad-url/sub-page

Set 2 of the pages in the main menu and give them a different menu title different from the page title.

Once you have the 3 pages and the home page, you can now check each of the pages and confirm the default settings work correctly. That will cover almost everyone. Next run through each of the options turn them on one at a time and confirm they work as expected.

Last, drop a note in one of the recent issues, or start a new issue, and let everyone know you completed the test so you can get issue credit for your work and a shoutout from the maintainers on Twitter! I'm happy to include in employer or website. If you have any questions join us on #breadcrumb-solutions on Drupal Slack!
