Garland was the default theme in Drupal 5 and Drupal 6, and is included in Drupal 7 as a core theme.

Garland was removed from Drupal core as of Drupal 8 as part of the Platform Initiative.

Its colors can be adjusted by the Color module, if enabled.

Garland was originally created by Stefan Nagtegaal and Steven Wittens.
