Who are we?

Conflict Resolution Team members are selected from the Community Health Team and the Drupal community at large by current CWG members and approved by the CWG Review Panel.

All members of the CWG must abide by the CWG Code of Ethics.

What do we do?

The CWG acts as a group to maintain documentation and processes focused on the health of the community. In case of disagreements, we guide community members through the conflict resolution process in an effort to help defuse tense situations and keep discussions productive. In rare cases of intractable conflicts, we act as a point of escalation, mediation, and/or final arbitration for the Drupal community.

How do we work?

The CWG meets weekly via Google Hangout. Due to the potentially sensitive nature of topics discussed, these meetings are not open to the public; however, we do publish anonymized versions of our weekly minutes on our public Google Drive folder. These minutes are also promoted via the CWG’s Twitter account @drupalcommunity. The CWG also maintains a private Slack account where we work on issues between regularly scheduled meetings.

How can I contact the Conflict Resolution team?

  • The CWG receives incident reports from Drupal community members via its Incident Report Form or via email at drupal-cwg [at] drupal.org. The incident report form and the drupal-cwg [at] drupal.org email both notify all CWG members. If there is any reason that you do not want to notify the entire CWG membership, please use one of the CWG members' drupal.org contact form (links above).
  • The CWG also maintains an issue tracker on Drupal.org, where members of the Drupal community are also encouraged to post general issues for discussion (e.g., proposed amendments about community-related policies, ideas of initiatives to help improve the health of the Drupal community, or other items that could benefit from wider community discussion).

How can I get involved?

If you are interested in serving on the CWG’s conflict resolution team, please contact us at drupal-cwg [at] drupal.org.

Membership of the CWG’s conflict resolution team gives the individual access to potentially sensitive and confidential information.

  • There are also many ways to help that don't require access to private and sensitive information, like:
  • Join one of our Community Health teams (link).
  • The most important help you can provide is to cheerfully and politely uphold the Drupal Code of Conduct at all times and be a voice of harmony and reason when necessary.
  • Encourage people to work things through themselves. Report any incidents if they can't be resolved directly.
  • Help triage and participate in issues in the drupal_cwg queue.
