Support the mentors at a contribution event, and get feedback from individual mentors.

Impact: 

It is important for the mentors to have someone they can go to for questions, so that they can feel confident in mentoring new contributors.

Accountable for: 
  • makes periodic announcements about:
    • how the day will go
    • how to work together on an issue
    • the live commit (or another celebration of success)
  • checks in with mentors and gathers their feedback
  • provides constructive feedback to mentors and new contributors on their work
  • monitors room to ensure a constructive, positive atmosphere and escalates to Mentored Contribution Event Planning Lead
  • works with the room greeter on how to direct participants to the tables
  • delegates tasks to mentors as needed such as room attendance, communication with other leads and event staff, etc...
  • coordinates with available Drupal project committer for a potential live commit (or with available initiative leads who new contributors worked with)
  • coordinates community tools setup areas
  • is on site (or actively available for a virtual event)
How to get started: 

After mentoring at a few events, offer to be a room coordinator at an upcoming event.
