The objective of the Event Planning Lead is to assemble a team of awesome people to coordinate the event. They are a mentor to mentors and coordinate others in efforts to make the contribution event a great experience to participants and mentors alike. Impact:
Without able, inspired volunteers, the Drupal core will wither and die. Mentors are key to success of the maintenance of Drupal core.
Accountable for:
- Recruiting mentor leads, workshop leads, booth leads, and other coordinators. See the Contribute by Mentoring page for a list of the roles.
- Explaining the role to each coordinator
- Supporting the coordinators
- Leading the mentor orientation
- Being on site at the event to coordinate mentoring efforts, lead mentor huddles, and work with core committers to make live commits happen
How to get started:
After participating in events in one of the other mentoring coordinator roles, offer to coordinate an event.
